Last week, I had the pleasure of designing for a very special couple. I met Jayne and her family years ago through my dad, and just loved spending time with them last year at Washington Mardi Gras!
Jayne recently married Patrick in Montana, and her parents threw a party to celebrate with family and friends in Louisiana. The venue was an unbelievable personal car museum, filled with cars from different eras and bright neons. We combined rustic flowers and vintage/”vintage-esque” containers to create a colorful, textured palette. The use of sunflowers was a nod to the groom, who loves to give sunflowers to his new bride. It was an honor and a privilege to design for them, and I wish them many happy years of marriage!
On a personal note, this event was a success with the help of Erin Fischer and Susan Peters- thank you ladies!
The sunflowers were combined with purple dahlias and accented by locally sourced zinnias from Capdeboscq Farm.
The tall arrangements were multilayered to give depth and texture. When designing these, my inspiration was a memorable trip to Lynnvale Farm last year.
The beer boxes added a personal touch to the bars. Jayne’s father and my father have deep ties to Anheuser-Busch, so these were my sentimental favorites!
Cheers to Patrick and Jayne!
