I can’t believe that it’s been so long since my last blog- where did the time go?! Since December, there have been events, a photoshoot, and a very special announcement! All of this was mixed in with local Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day festivities, all of which happens within walking distance to my house in New Orleans!
December was crazy with holiday decorations in various New Orleans hotels and private residences + freelancing. It was such a whirlwind and I loved every minute of it! Christmas is my favorite holiday and I can’t get enough! My tour of Christmas ended with a bang, getting caught up in the polar vortex in DC. Needless to say, I was happy to get back to New Orleans for a mild holiday.
After a small break in January, wedding season kicked off in February! We had a rehearsal dinner and several weddings in the mix around town. One wedding in particular stood out to me; I was so excited to design for my friends Matt and Jeri Ann. They will always be a special couple…Jeri Ann was the first bride to book me once we moved back to New Orleans and trusted me with her big day. Admittedly, I always am anxious for things to be perfect for my brides, but because I designed and attended this wedding, it was difficult to take off the designer hat and put on the the guest hat! This event also marked the debut of our Chuppah! It was a custom build for the studio and it is perfect! It is a natural wood that looks beautiful on it’s own or embellished.
In March, we had several more weddings, a photoshoot, and one very special announcement. I am waiting for professional images from recent events to share them with you, but for behind the scenes action, check out my instagram page: http://instagram.com/givernydesign. You also may have noticed some new photos on the Home page and on the Contact page. They were taken by the very talented Tyrone Turner, a renowned photojournalist who just happens to be my uncle! It’s always fun to have him around and his creative eye always captures the very best of my arrangements! Here are some great detail shots from our shoot:
And, last but not least, we took a very special Maternity photo…I am due in early June for our first baby! We are looking forward to our little one’s arrival!
Spring means new beginnings!
