As a designer, my rule of thumb is that I deliver arrangements that I would want myself. I consider it a point of pride and particularly for weddings, there is no room for error. You have one chance to create a bride’s vision. When I design, I design with the mindset of “would I want this at my own wedding?”
Over the Spring season, Sophie and Casey’s wedding really stood out. It is always a pleasure working with Kenny and Laura of Grand Events; it was wonderful to collaborate with them and Sophie to create a beautiful affair! The ceremony took place in Audubon Park and the reception was at the Windsor Court Hotel. Being from New Orleans, both venues conjure up sentimental memories. The Park is very near my house, and is characterized by the massive oak trees with hanging Spanish moss. There is something special knowing that the oaks have lasted for generations and continue to be enjoyed today. The Windsor Court Hotel holds a special place in my heart, because as a child, my grandmother used to take me there for tea. Growing up, it was the epitome of elegance and to have the opportunity to design an event there was so special!

The inspiration for their Chuppah was to have it mimic the Oaks, to look as natural as possible and blend into the Park.
The arrangement below is in a bespoke natural container made of gilded magnolia leaves. The look was meant to incorporate the container into the design and then to draw the eye up to the chandelier.
Cheers!
